Astrology Autonomy: The Cardinal Signs

Kicking off the Astrological Solar New Year

This week, I’m kicking off the Solar New Year with astrology posts related to autonomy in relationships— enjoy!

The astrological ‘Cardinal’ signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.

Cardinal signs are the ‘leaders’ of their elements. They’re the leaders — the creative visionaries. Aries is the leader of fire signs, Cancer is the leader of water signs, Libra is the leader of air signs, and Capricorn is the leader of earth signs.

They don’t lead the other signs in their element. The sense here is that they are prone to be leaders and their focus in leadership is realized most fully from the energy of their element.

They, first, intuitively know how and feel the need to lead because they readily envision what they need to do and where and how they need to go about doing it. In early stages of life, they learn to lead themselves and the particular way they learn to master themselves is dictated by their element.

Aries learns to lead who they are.

Cancer learns to lead their emotions.

Libra learns to lead their connection to others.
